It is an honor and privilege to represent Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association of New Hampshire as the 2018-2019 President. I want to thank all of our members for their continued support of our Association. Without the active participation and financial support of our members, specifically our Preferred Corporate Sponsors, we could not successfully continue our mission.
One of the biggest challenges has been affordable housing for first time homebuyers. The MBBA-NH has been actively involved in supporting affordable housing initiatives and this year will take a fresh look at GSE reform and what we can do to secure our industry’s future for Mortgage Lending and protecting consumers.
We continue our focus on educating and training Mortgage Bankers and supporting our candidates who are working on their Certified Mortgage Professional (CMP) designation, an exclusive professional designation through the MBBA-NH. The MBBA-NH also engages in and supports the Mortgage Action Alliance (MAA). Make a difference! The MAA is free to join and gives you a powerful political voice in Washington, DC and at the state level.
We will continue to work with our State, and Federal regulators and representatives to ensure we are on top of any changes in the legislative front. This year it will be necessary to raise political action funds to support these efforts to make an even bigger impact since the political scene is making such an impact on our industry. To that end, I am pleased we will coordinate a grass roots effort amongst our member companies that truly represent the full impact of our over 80 member companies representing our 1,400+ NH employees.
In order for our association to remain strong, vibrant and a resource to our members, we need to draw on the talents, knowledge and expertise of ALL of our members. To succeed, it is vital that each member consider taking a more active role in the Association.
I would love to open a dialogue on how you can contribute your talent, knowledge and experience.
