Presidents Letter
2017-2018 Membership

It is an honor and privilege to represent Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association of New Hampshire as the 2016-2017  and 2017-2018 President.   I want to thank all of our members for their continued support of our Association.  Without the active participation and financial support of our members, specifically our Preferred Corporate Sponsors, we could not successfully continue our mission.

As we embark on the 33rd year of being incorporated, it is more important than ever that we continue to be strong and take action to make a difference in our ever changing industry.

The changes in disclosing loan terms that were mandated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau have required us all to work harder, to quickly adapt to change and to be creative in problem solving on a daily basis.   As we have passed the 1 1/2 year mark with these changes, the good news is we are all still doing business in a thriving real estate market.

Looking forward, providing educational opportunities to our members will continue to top priority.  The Association will continue to keep our members updated on industry changes, provide legislative updates, and provide professional growth opportunities.  Promoting the Certified Mortgage Professional (CMP-NH.org) program within our membership and other professional industries will also continue to be a focus this year.

We will continue to work with our State, and Federal regulators and representatives to ensure we are on top of any changes in the legislative front.  This year it will be necessary to raise political action funds to support these efforts to make an even bigger impact since the political scene is making such an impact on our industry.  To that end, I am pleased we will coordinate a grass roots effort amongst our member companies that truly represent the full impact of our over 80 member companies representing our 1,400+ NH employees.

As your President, my mantra will be “taking action to make a difference”.   In order for our association to remain strong, vibrant and a resource to our members, we need to draw on the talents, knowledge and expertise of ALL of our members.  To succeed, it is vital that each member consider taking a more active role in the Association.

Please reflect and decide what you can do to make your professional organization even better.  Should you need guidance, I encourage any of you to call me directly; I would love to open a dialogue on how you can contribute your talent, knowledge and experience.
